Feeling emotional, nervous or having trouble sleeping and eating can all be normal reactions to stress.
Here are some healthy ways you can deal with stress:
· Take care of yourself: Eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, and give yourself a break if you feel stressed out.
· Get enough exercise: Whether you are a jogger, bicyclist, or just like to take long walks, be sure to get some fresh air and add exercise into your daily routine.
· Talk to others: Share your problems and how you are feeling and coping with a parent, friend, counselor, doctor, or pastor.
· Avoid drugs and alcohol: These may seem to help with stress, but they can create additional problems and increase the stress you are already feeling.
· Take a break: If news events are causing you stress, take a break from listening or watching the news.
· Practice meditation: One of the most effective ways to deal with stress is to learn how to silence the mind. Meditation is one of the most popular methods of achieving this.
· Recognize when you need more help: If problems continue or you are thinking about suicide, reach out for help.
